Mini Soil Testing Laboratory
A mini soil testing laboratory was installed
by the Department of Soil and Water Conservation Mokokchung on 18th
February at Fazl Ali College under North Ongpangkong Block. This initiative is
part of the broader objective of the Department to provide quantitative soil
testing kit and allow farmer’s easy access to the benefits of soil testing
services thereby ensuring higher productivity. With the installation of the
Digital Soil Testing Laboratory at Block levels in every district, soil testing
is made convenient for the farming community even in remote areas. The
Department of Geography has long felt the need of a soil laboratory to assist
and encourage both students and faculty in research and project related
activities. Since the mini Laboratory has the capability of testing 14
parameters of soil condition it is anticipated that it would greatly benefit
the institution and even the surrounding farming community.
